PUPPY LOVE

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn

It seems that everywhere I look these days, someone has adopted a puppy.  In Paris, you can’t cross the street without running into a chic Parisian and her pug. In our neck of the woods, the Goldendoodles, Dachshunds and Labradors rule the roost. There aren’t enough words to describe how cute these furry creatures are. Continue reading

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Balmain SS2014

Balmain SS2014

Feathers are all the rage for spring, and judging from the pre-fall look books, it appears that they’re here to stay. I’m not complaining! I love dresses with feathered hems, feathers as earrings, a good feather detail on a beautiful heel. I’m even partial to a bit of feathering in the home. You know, just something whimsical to lift the mood. Continue reading

Hue du Jour: Black and White

BW9I love the combination of black and white. It’s crisp, clean, chic and modern. I love it in interiors and in fashion. Nothing beats a beautiful black and white (faux) marble floor, a white blind with black trim or a crisp white blouse coupled with black peddle pushers. Being at the opposite end of the color spectrum, these shades are terrifically complimentary and timeless. Think, for example of the black and white marble floors that feature in paintings by 17th century masters like Pieter de Hooch and Johannes Vermeer. Continue reading

THE GOLDEN GLOBES 2014

Sofia Vergara

In case you missed it, the Golden Globes 2014 took place yesterday and as usual, Hollywood was out in full force. I think the best thing about these awards ceremonies are the red carpet arrivals. I’m a sucker for all that pomp and circumstance, the evening gowns, the gazillion dollars worth of jewelry, all that ego out in full force. How great is that? I love that it’s so far removed from my reality. It’s a chance to break with the daily grind and immerse myself in glamour. Continue reading

ICONIC: LEE RADZIWILL

Radziwill3The Bouvier sisters seemingly coined the term ‘marrying well’. Jackie, the elder, married JFK and went on to become First Lady, then married Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, at the time arguably one of the wealthiest men in the world. Meanwhile, younger sister Lee (born Caroline) married three times. Her second marriage was to Prince Stanislaw Radziwill, whose name she kept.

Many comparisons have been drawn between the Bouvier and the Middleton sisters, and understandably so. Continue reading
