HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Brit gardenHurray, spring has come early! If you’re a resident of Holland, you will no doubt have spent the past weekend basking in the sun, be it at the beach, on a restaurant terrace or in your own garden. Having nothing but time on my hands since I had surgery on my shoulder almost two weeks ago (I know, I know, I wasn’t planning on writing about it, but I felt I owed you an explanation for my infrequent posts – typing with one hand is a challenge!), I spent the weekend dozing on the terrace in my garden. MASTER COLORIST IN MADRID

Madrid_5It cannot have escaped your attention that I’m a sucker for color, particularly in the home. So, it should come as no surprise that I am all over this apartment that I came across while perusing the German edition of Architectural Digest. Designed by the genius that is Lorenzo Castillo (infinitely more on this insanely talented interior designer and antiques dealer in a later post!), it is perfect in its bold execution and whimsical take on design. HAPPY IN AMSTERDAM

Well, the weekend is finally upon us and that’s reason enough for celebration. You have to check out this video I came across, which put a great, big grin on my tired face! Did you know that women in Holland are supposed to be the happiest in the world? I certainly didn’t, especially not after the week I’ve been having!! Love the kids, but sometimes they are just too much! But all is well with the world after I saw this video to the perfect beat of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”.

Get your groove on while you watch this!

In keeping with the Japanese theme of our last post, I’ve decided to pay homage to the great Kenzo Takada. His flamboyant, colourful collections have withstood the test of time and trends, and have even started a few of their own. Continue reading
