While we prepare ourselves for the World Cup Soccer Finals tonight, I thought it would be a nice touch to offer something Brazilian and beautiful in light of their hosting the tournament this year. I happen to have a bit of a thing for Brazilian society decorator Sig Bergamin’s eclectic home in Sao Paulo. Nowhere is his ‘more is more’ philosophy more in evidence than in his own home. Full of color and prints and filled to the brim with collected artifacts, it is a true expression of the man. The fact that he found a way to build a house which appears like an oasis of calm in such a massive, sprawling city, is a testament to his talent and vision. I also love that he chose comfort over pure aesthetics. For more on the house and the designer, check out this article in Architectural Digest.
